Yours to use. Not yours to sell.

dalDesk, dalMap, and dalSDR are source-available, not open source. The intent is simple: amateur radio operators, clubs, and groups should be able to use them, share them, and show them to people, as long as nobody is making money from it.

Each product carries its own license for its own code and data, and those are the operative documents. This page is the shape they share.

The shape of the grant

Whatever the licenses of a product’s third-party components grant you, you have. Nothing here takes any of it away.
In addition, you may use the products, link to them, display them publicly, and refer to them — for any purpose that is not commercial.
In addition, you may re-use their static reference data with attribution.
In addition, you may change your own copy of a local bridge, on your own machine, for your own operating.
Nothing further is granted. Commercial use, automated or bulk re-use, and giving out something made from a product are withheld.

What you may do

Use them. Open the hosted products and use them. Run the optional local bridges against your own receivers and rig-control software. Do everything an ordinary browser does with a page: fetch, cache, render, execute, and apply your own accessibility and display settings.
Point people at them. Store, forward, and display links — in a newsletter, on a club site, in a training pack, on a slide, as a QR code. Linking needs no permission and has no limit.
Show them. Run one on a screen where people can see it, as a learning tool or a visual aid, whether the audience is three people or three hundred — so long as the display itself is not a commercial activity.
Refer to them. Cite, link, screenshot, write about, and teach from them. Attribution is appreciated, and for static reference data it is required.

What you may not do

Make money from it. No commercial use of the products, their code, their data, or their marks.
Extract in bulk. No automated or bulk re-use, scraping, or mirroring of what a product serves. The upstream providers each set their own terms, and a product’s data-sources page records them.
Give out something made from a product. Do not adapt, rebrand, or rework one into something else and then hand it on. The line is distribution rather than the editor: a local bridge runs on your machine and its source is published, so changing your own copy of it — to find out why it will not open your receiver, or to make it work with the station you actually have — is ordinary operating and is yours to do. What you pass to other people is what this withholds, and a fix that lives only on your machine helps one station. If you make one others would want, the product’s guide says how to report it, and it can be considered for the published bridge. That is your decision, and nothing about your own copy depends on it. Ask about anything beyond that; the conversation is a welcome one.
Use the marks for anything else. The names “dal”, “dalDesk”, “dalMap”, and “dalSDR”, the product icons, and the kf2em.com domains do not identify anything but these products. Do not use them to name, endorse, or imply a connection with something that is not one of them.

Any permission beyond this has to be granted in writing, and covers only the use it names.

Where the terms are not ours to set

Third-party components. Each product bundles components under their own licenses, and where one of those grants you reuse, that reuse is authorized. A product’s third-party notices list them.

Provider data. The observations, maps, alerts, and space-weather data these products show are licensed by the providers who publish them, not by dal. Each product’s data-sources page records the provider, the terms, the scope, and the attribution each one requires — read it before re-using anything you saw through a product rather than assuming this page covers it.

Facts and specifications. Band plans, allocations, and published specifications are not licensed by this page, by dal, or by anyone else.
